Building Schools for the Future Announcement
We are delighted to be able to announce that wave 5 funding for Building Schools for the Future has been secured so that the new developments for the Nottingham Bluecoat School can take place. Through the national programme of Building Schools for the Future, Bluecoat has secured over £30 million of funding to create a set of new school buildings at the Aspley Lane site. The School will have state of the art facilities in every subject with ICT leading the way in delivering an education fit for the next 300 years of the School's history. The Christian mission and aims of the School will remain very much at the heart of these new developments.
We look forward to being able to start detailed planning for this project and being able to share those plans with parents, staff and students as they progress.

  Welcome Message

As a Church of England school we work within a Christian framework. We aim to provide the best possible education in a supportive and disciplined environment so that every student may prepare confidently for adult and working life. Our commitment is to help everyone to reach their full potential, including those of exceptional ability and those with learning difficulties.

Visitors to the School frequently remark upon the good atmosphere that prevails - there is a real sense of purpose and direction amongst staff and students. It is not surprising, therefore, that the quality of learning is high and that our examination results are excellent, representing achievement at the highest levels within Nottingham. Our students also have an enviable record of success in going on to Further and Higher Education and in gaining employment.

In 1996, Bluecoat was awarded Technology College status. This enables us to offer remarkable provision in Computing, ICT, Mathematics, Science and Technology.
Vocational courses, links with business and industry, and international exchange are well established. We are also developing further expertise in the Arts and a second specialist status in Business and Enterprise.

Our success has led to the creation of a second campus at Wollaton Park to enable more young people to benefit from a Bluecoat education. Both campuses are also in the process of being redeveloped over the next few years. We look forward to welcoming you to the School.
